Apply Madrid protocol: International Trademark registration

In accordance with the Madrid System, an application for the international registration of a trademark can be filed only if there is a national registration / application. An application for the international registration of a trademark is submitted to the International Bureau of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), which makes it possible to provide legal protection simultaneously in several countries by filing one international application (list of countries). In this case, the list of countries in which the applicant seeks legal protection is indicated in the international application. This system significantly simplifies the procedure of obtaining legal protection and further management of rights of a trademark, because any changes are made only in the materials of the international application, including the renewal of the protection document. The registration of a trademark under the Madrid System reduces the number of formal requirements and incurs lower costs
